The General Election is coming

22 May 2024
Victoria Charleston for Salisbury and South Wiltshire

Today the Prime Minister has confirmed that the country is going to the polls and a general election has been called for Thursday 4th July.

I am excited and ready for this and I hope you are too.

For too long the Conservatives have hung on, choosing power and the keys to No. 10 over saving our NHS, fixing our economy, and tackling the climate crisis.

Hard-working families in our community are sick of the same old unfair and divisive two-party politics which is currently tearing our nation apart. They are looking for real change and a positive future, which I am committed to working to bring. Our community has had enough of this Conservative government refusing to help them through the cost of living crisis, whilst also allowing our local NHS hospital and local schools to crumble.

This Conservative government is out of touch and out of time, and this announcement is long overdue. I am honoured to be fighting on behalf of Salisbury and South Wiltshire and offering our residents a proper community MP instead of the Conservatives, who have taken us for granted for years.

Immediate to do list

  • Come to the office tomorrow and get cracking with blue envelope addressing and other clerical tasks.
  • Deliver any leaflets you have in your house to deliver.
  • And of course, please do support the campaign and donate to our fighting fund.

We know that I am the best chance Salisbury has for change, we know that Labour are not going to fight or win here.

I look forward to campaigning with you over the next six weeks and turning Salisbury and South Wiltshire yellow.
