Victoria Leads the Fight for Change
For too long Salisbury and South Wiltshire have been let down. You are not listened to. This election is our chance to finally get the change we need - and the fair deal we deserve.
Victoria Charleston
Victoria is the strong voice we need as our MP.
That’s why more and more people here are backing her at this election.
Pushing to protect our NHS
Conservative failure left 420,000 patients waiting over 12 hours at A&E last year. The Lib Dem plan includes a fair pay deal for NHS staff, funds to recruit 8,000 more GPs, and gives pharmacists more powers to prescribe medicines. They also want extra investment in social care, to ease the pressure on hospital waiting times.
Victoria is speaking up about cost of living
“This out-of-touch Conservative Government is letting us all down and taking everyone for granted.“ The Lib Dem ‘cost of living rescue plan’ includes making taxes fair, reversing Conservative tax cuts for big bank, and investing in infrastructure, innovation and skills to create good jobs.
Tackling the climate crisis nationally and locally
The climate emergency will not wait. Lib Dems are calling for a ‘Green Recovery Plan’, including £150 billion invested in the fight against climate change and cut greenhouse gas emissions to net zero by 2045.
A REPUTATION FOR HARD WORK AND ACTION…
Victoria grew up in a military family before attending university. A passion for helping people lead her to a career in the charitable sector mainly focused on Violence Against Women and Girls. Victoria is currently the Managing Director for a national charity which educates young people about stalking.
Victoria settled in Salisbury with her husband and two young children who attended a local school and nursery. She lives with her family on Macklin Road in the heart of Salisbury.
“I want to be a proper, community MP for my home. This is where I was married, where I live, and where my children were born. I understand the problems people are facing with NHS waiting times and cost of living crisis as we experience them too.”
As one of the leaders of Salisbury City Council, Victoria already works hard on behalf of Salisbury residents to create climate conscious, lively city people love.
