Richard Budden

Richard (Dick) Budden

I’m Richard (Dick) Budden, Wiltshire Councillor for the Tisbury Division (that covers Tisbury itself and West Tisbury plus Donhead St Andrew, Donhead St Mary and Fonthill Gifford) since being elected in a by-election in 2023.

I came to live on the outskirts of Tisbury a decade earlier, after a career in industry that took me to Ireland where I was CEO of Europe’s largest PET recycler, and where I set up the Irish arm of CDP, a charity that runs a disclosure system for companies, investors, cities etc., to manage their environmental impacts.

In Tisbury I became involved in helping run the district’s Natural History Society, driving for the local Link scheme, and campaigning on local planning and road safety issues.

My focus as a Councillor, in addition to local planning matters, is on the three Rs: Roads (the appalling state they’re in), Rivers (the Nadder and the challenges faced by its wildlife) and Rubbish (or Recycling).

I’m always pleased to hear from residents, and to do whatever I can to help in any interaction with the Council.
